With the vigorous development of the economy in Kazakhstan, the demand for stable, efficient and clean power supply has become increasingly urgent. To address the increasingly severe peak power shortage problem in a certain industrial park and in response to the national call for energy conservation and green development, the local authorities have decided to invest in the construction of a modern gas combined cycle power station. This project not only demands that the power station possess safe and reliable power generation capabilities, but also shoulders the mission of maximizing the efficiency of energy utilization, with the aim of achieving multiple goals such as significantly reducing operating costs and minimizing environmental impacts.

HUAQUAN Power Solutions:
In response to the requirements of this project, HUAQUAN Power has specially developed an “18 MW gas power generation + efficient waste heat recovery comprehensive utilization” integrated solution, and has successfully completed the supply and delivery of the first batch of core equipment.
- Core Power Generation Unit: Equipped with a reliable and efficient 18 MW gas generator set, serving as the main power output core of the power station, it fundamentally ensures the stable supply of power and grid connection reliability for the industrial park.
- High-efficiency Waste Heat Recovery System (HRS): An advanced waste heat boiler has been innovatively installed at the rear end of the gas generator set. This system can precisely capture and recover the high-temperature exhaust gas (up to 500 degrees Celsius) emitted by the generator, and efficiently convert it into saturated steam or hot water required for industrial production or heating, significantly enhancing the overall energy utilization rate.
- Intelligent Control System: The entire station integrates an advanced intelligent power station management system (PMS/SCADA). This system enables real-time automatic monitoring, fault warning and operation optimization for the entire process of power generation, waste heat recovery, and grid connection, ensuring that the entire system can adapt to and overcome the special climatic conditions of Kazakhstan, achieving long-term, efficient and stable operation.

Backgrounds
A large-scale ecological breeding industrial park aims to establish a modern and sustainable agricultural demonstration as its strategic goal. The functional areas of the park include high-precision constant-temperature breeding workshops, comprehensive feed processing facilities, advanced cold chain storage systems, as well as supporting administrative offices and living areas. These areas have extremely high requirements for the reliability, environmental friendliness, and operational economy of electricity. However, in the process of striving for these high standards, the park is currently facing the following core challenges:
- Power Supply Reliability Challenge: Zero tolerance for instantaneous interruption. The core production processes (such as temperature control, ventilation, etc.) have extremely strict requirements for power supply continuity. Any interruption would result in significant economic and biological asset losses.
- Operational Cost Pressure: Bottleneck of long-term high-load operation. Large-scale intensive production leads to high-load and long-duration power consumption patterns. High electricity costs have become the core bottleneck restricting the profitability and sustainable development of the park.
HUAQUAN Power Solutions:
In response to these core needs, we have specially designed a 1.3 MW “photovoltaic + energy storage + diesel generator” micro-grid integrated energy solution for the park, and it has successfully achieved stable grid connection and operation.
- Photovoltaic Power Generation System (Main Power Source):
- By making full use of the effective space on the factory rooftops and vacant areas within the park, a total capacity of 1.3 MW of high-efficiency photovoltaic modules will be deployed. This system will efficiently convert clean solar energy into electricity and prioritize to meet the production power demand of the park during its peak hours during the day.
- Energy Storage System (Energy Regulator and Emergency Power):
- Configure a large-scale electrochemical energy storage system (ESS) to establish a power buffering and scheduling core at power station level.
- Peak Shaving and Load Shifting: During period of abundant photovoltaic power generation, surplus electricity is stored, and it is released during nighttime or peak electricity consumption periods. This strategy can maximize the consumption rate of clean energy, significantly smooth out the load curve, achieve peak-valley electricity price arbitrage, and effectively reduce the cost of electricity purchase.
- Seamless Switching and Power Supply Assurance: As an emergency backup power source, the energy storage system can seamlessly switch to an independent power supply mode in the instant of a main power grid failure, ensuring zero interruption of critical loads and completely eliminating economic and biological asset risk caused by power grid outages.
- Diesel Generator Set (The Ultimate Contingency Safeguard):
- As the ultimate emergency power source of the system, the generator set has the function of logical self-starting. In extreme conditions such as continuous rainy weather, insufficient photovoltaic power output, and depletion of energy storage capacity, the diesel generator set will automatically connect to the grid to ensure absolute reliability of power supply.
- Intelligent Microgrid Energy Management System (EMS):
- The entire system integrates an advanced energy management system (EMS). This intelligent “brain” enables real-time collaborative optimization control of all aspect such as photovoltaic output, energy storage charging and discharging, diesel generator start-stop, and grid power interaction. The ultimate goal is to achieve unmanned intelligent operation, maximum economic dispatch, and continuous guarantee of the efficient and stable operation of the entire micro-grid system.
